First Prenatal Appointment

Today was my first prenatal appointment. Yay!! :) Got blood work done, got a pap (bleh), and scheduled the first ultrasound (woo hoo!!). My first ultrasound is on Tuesday, October 11th. I will get to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. I am SOOOO excited. I'm debating changing it to a day that David can come along, but the next opening wasn't for a few weeks. Ugh. I don't know if I can wait that long.

The doctor said that everything looked GREAT. She said my uterus felt like I was 6 weeks, instead of 5 weeks though. She also said that my pelvis was already widening and asked me if I was a "big" baby. Apparently it only widens this early if you are going to have a big baby, according to her. I told her that I was 9lb 12oz. She about passed out. Then she asked how big my hubby was, he was 8lb 10oz. Her face went blank, and she said, "Oh, I'm so sorry Lori." Apparently the Mother's birth weight is something that she passes down to her kids. My guess is this baby will be at least 9lbs.

Maybe I should take a poll, as to when I will deliver, boy or girl, and how big? Yes?
